Within weeks, a novel COVID-19 virus has brought communities and economies to a standstill. What responsibility do futurists have to the public, and to those most vulnerable? What approaches have professional futurists taken in Asia, Africa and the Americas to meet this historical moment?
APF is pleased to announce that during 2020 it will convene as members each month, on the First Friday at 12:00 noon London time to look at pressing issues related to foresight practice. Our April 3rd topic is "Coronavirus Crisis: How are Futurists Responding?" This is a members-only event. The meeting will last 60 minutes, and include discussion about the use of futures methods and foresight practices as change agents during this time of global pandemic.
APF Board Members, Prateeksha Singh from Bangkok, and Marius Oosthuizen from Johannesburg will share what they are doing in their region to move from scenarios impact to systems mitigation. APF Chair, Dr. Jay Gary, will host the event.
