Ruben Nelson is Executive Director, Foresight Canada, Calgary.

Ruben is an internationally respected futures researcher and practitioner of strategic foresight. He was the first to apply the concept of ‘paradigm change’ to whole cultures in 1975. He coined the term ‘civilizational overshoot’ in 2018. See: https://foresightcanada.com/ruben-nelson-biography/

On February 13, in Seattle there will be an open session in the afternoon before the Annual AAAS meeting starts. Open to all and free, addressing this question: Will modern civilization be the death of us?

Bill Rees (the Ecological Footprint guy) and Ruben will be making the strongest cases they know that the answer to the question is yes.

Bill will explain that this is now the case. Ruben shall explain why, why now and where hope lies. See the PDF file available at this link for more details: https://cdn.ymaws.com/www.apf.org/resource/dynamic/forums/20200131_160219_20513.pdf.
