personal bio
I am known as the #futuresaunty, a name gifted to me by a previous workshop participant. I am the founder of the Ōtautahi Futures Collective, Aotearoa Futures and Oceania Futures. I have recently completed a resource called Intergeneraton Ambition: A Wayfinding Guide for the Future. I am passionate about connecting futures ideas from an Oceania and indigenous world view and incorporate that into all my work.
My husband and I can walk into the city from our home and welcome your visit. We are hoping to support an Oceania Futures Symposium in 2026 and also a Future of Learning Conference. My mind doesn't rest but I am pretty much just an everyday person doing my bit to make a difference. Oh and we have two great grandchildren...
FOREsight experience
I work as a futurist under the brand of Think Beyond, and have done so for the last 20+ years. I network with others for large projects but often work as an individual consultant. I have a passion for growing futures fluency and foresight understandings and have established local and global networks of people interested in futures and foresight.
Experience includes speaking at conferences, most recently the Oceania Futures Symposium in Brisbane Australia.
I convene a What if Wednesday every month, focusing on one of the Dubai 50 What if questions. I also help others learn futures methodologies through workshops and webinars. I have convened masterclasses enabling others to grow futures with Sohail Inayatullan and Ivana Milojević.
I am an Adjunct Senior Fellow at the University of Canterbury, a professional member of the Association for Professional Futurists and a reviewer for the Journal of Future Studies. I am one 12 global futurists who are Friends of the Forum for the Dubai Future Forum 2025 & 2026. Other projects include supporting a Cities Community of Practice focusing on growing Intergenerational Fairness, a global project under the umbrella of teh School of International Futures and The Pledge Network. And also completing and Aotearoa Futures Barometer, to be released soon.
